Hopkins will sign a five-year deal with the Texans worth $81 million with nearly $49 million guaranteed – the highest guaranteed total in the league for a receiver, the league reported on its website.

Hopkins, 25, is entering his fifth NFL season, all with Houston, and has amassed 4,487 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns on 317 catches in 64 career games. The gifted receiver reached the Pro Bowl in the 2015 season, his breakout campaign that included 111 catches, 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Hopkins, who staged a brief contract holdout last off-season, was set to enter this campaign in the final year of his rookie contract which would have paid him $7.9 million.
