Mount Pulaski soccer action intense on the field

[September 01, 2017]    Mount Pulaski began the week on the soccer field with a 5-1 loss to Normal Calvary. Nate Dyer was the only Mount Pulaski player to score. His goal came late in the game.

 

The real intense match came on Thursday as the Toppers hosted Olympia.

Mount Pulaski was trailing Olympia 3-1 with under two minutes to play. Garrett Skelton scored a goal to make the score 3-2 as the clock showed 1:05 left to play. Michael Freer then kicked the ball over the goalie’s head and into the net with :15 seconds showing on the clock. Freer’s goal led the fans into a frenzy and the 3-3 tie delighted the hometown crowd.

Mount Pulaski will host Bluffs on Saturday.

Michael Freer scored two goals for Mount Pulaski. The Toppers tied with Olympia 3-3 thanks to Freer's last second goal at the end of the game.
