[September 05, 2017]    The Lincoln College Men’s Golf team teed it up for their first event of the fall season last week at Lake Bracken Country Club in Galesburg, IL. The Lynx had a rough day on the course for the first outing, shooting a total 359 to finish 11th out of 12 teams.

Sophomore Jack White (Lincoln) led the Lynx with an 81.

"Jack hit the ball really well off the tee all day and threw in 3 birdies. He struggled around the greens, but he works hard at it so we will get there," said Coach Nick Adcock.

Freshman Adam Hoffman from Porta High School shot an 87 in his first college tournament. Coach Adcock was positive about Hoffman’s debut. "He had some rough breaks all day, including getting his ball getting stuck in a tree," he said.

Sophomore Caleb Przykopanski (Mt. Pulaski) finished with a 92. Freshman Isaac Lewis (Lincoln) shot a 99 and fellow freshman Christian Bennett (Lincoln) rounded out the group with a 121.

Despite the poor finish in the team’s first outing of the season, Coach Adcock sees a lot of promise in this group of players. He commented that, "The team is very young and haven't been golfing a long time, so we need some work for sure. These guys all work hard and want to improve. We will continue to strive to get to where we want to be."

The Lynx next tournament will be on September 25th at The Champaign Country Club.
