Indians 5, White Sox 3

Jose Ramirez and Carlos Santana homered as the red-hot Cleveland Indians ran their season-high winning streak to 12 games with a 5-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

Trevor Bauer (15-8) allowed two runs on three hits in 6-1/3 innings for Cleveland.

Chicago starter James Shields (2-6) exited in the seventh inning with a right knee contusion. He allowed four runs in 6-1/3 innings.

Rymer Liriano hit a two-run homer for the White Sox.

Diamondbacks 13, Dodgers 0

J.D. Martinez hit four home runs as the surging Arizona Diamondbacks won for an 11th consecutive game, routing the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Martinez, acquired by the Diamondbacks from the Detroit Tigers in July, tied the major league record with four home runs in a game, becoming the 18th player to accomplish that feat.

He is second player this season to hit four homers in a game, after the Cincinnati Reds' Scooter Gennett accomplished the feat on June 6 against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Martinez was 4-for-5 with six RBIs. He hit his 34th home run of the season in the ninth off Wilmer Font after going deep in the fourth, seventh and eighth innings.

Robbie Ray had a career-high 14 strikeouts, and the Diamondbacks hit six home runs in the rout, handing the Dodgers their ninth loss in 10 games.

Yankees 7, Orioles 4

Starlin Castro homered and drove in three runs, leading New York past Baltimore.

Castro hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning off Baltimore starter Dylan Bundy (13-9) and added an RBI single in the sixth. Didi Gregorius also hit a two-run homer for the Yankees.

Welington Castillo, Chris Davis and Tim Beckham homered for the Orioles.

Reds 5, Brewers 4

Billy Hamilton homered with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting Cincinnati over Milwaukee.

Hamilton won the game by hitting a 1-1 pitch from Josh Hader (1-3) over the left-center field fence.

Ryan Braun hit a solo homer and Orlando Arcia hit a three-run homer for Milwaukee.

Pirates 12, Cubs 0

Josh Bell homered and drove in four runs as Pittsburgh routed Chicago, which lost ace Jake Arrieta to an apparent right hamstring injury.

Arrieta lasted just 2-1/3 innings before grabbing his hamstring in pain after a pitch. He attempted one more pitch under the eye of trainers before again grabbing his hamstring and removing himself from the game.

Bell hit a two-run homer in the first inning off Arrieta (14-9) and added an RBI single in the fifth. Pittsburgh's Chad Kuhl (7-10) scattered four hits in seven innings.

Royals 7, Tigers 6

Eric Hosmer homered and drove in three runs as Kansas City held off Detroit.

Melky Cabrera added a two-run double while Salvador Perez and Alcides Escobar hit solo homers for Kansas City.

Nicholas Castellanos drove in four runs for Detroit.

Mets 11, Phillies 7

Jose Reyes sparked a three-run third inning with a solo homer and contributed an RBI single during a six-run fourth as New York beat Philadelphia.

Reyes extended his hitting streak to 10 games by going 2-for-3 with a walk.

Kim Hyun Soo hit a two-run double while Freddy Galvis and Odubel Herrera hit RBI singles in the ninth for Philadelphia.

Rockies 4, Giants 3

Carlos Gonzalez drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs in the ninth, lifting the Colorado Rockies to a 4-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

The victory increased the Rockies' lead to 1-1/2 games over Milwaukee for the second wild-card spot in the National League.

Cardinals 2, Padres 0

Carlos Martinez threw his second shutout of the season and Yadier Molina had a two-run single as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the San Diego Padres.

Molina's big hit came in the fourth inning as the Cardinals won for the fourth time in five games as they try to stay within striking distance of a National League wild-card berth. St. Louis is three games behind Colorado for the second wild card.

Martinez (11-10) won for the second time in his last four outings as he was seldom challenged by the Padres.

Astros 6, Mariners 2

Alex Bregman's two-run double ignited a four-run rally in the seventh inning, and Dallas Keuchel pitched 7-2/3 solid innings as the Houston defeated Seattle.

Josh Reddick added a two-run single in the decisive outburst in the seventh as the Astros broke open a tie game.

Keuchel (12-3) allowed seven hits and two runs. His 108 pitches were the most he had thrown in an outing since coming off the disabled list on July 28.

Angels 11, Athletics 9 (11 innings)

Kole Calhoun hit a tiebreaking, two-run triple in the top of the 11th inning, and Los Angeles held on to beat Oakland.

The Angels set an American League record by using 12 pitchers, including three in the 11th inning.

Keynan Middleton recorded his third save of the season, getting Khris Davis to ground into a game-ending double play with runners on first and second.

Oakland's Matt Olson tied the game with a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning -- his second homer of the game. Martin Maldonado homered twice for the Angels.

Rangers 8, Braves 2

Elvis Andrus, Nomar Mazara and Rougned Odor smashed home runs as the Rangers beat Atlanta.

Carlos Gomez had three hits, including two doubles, and Odor drove in three runs, adding a double to his homer. Seven of the Rangers' 11 hits were for extra bases, with Joey Gallo getting a triple.

Andrew Cashner (9-9) surrendered just a two-run homer to Matt Adams over six innings. Cashner also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Nationals 7, Marlins 2

Anthony Rendon had a home run and four RBIs, and Daniel Murphy homered and drove in three runs to lead Washington past Miami.

Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton hit his major-league-leading 53rd homer, a solo shot in the fifth inning.

Stanton collected his 112th RBI of the season to take the National League lead.

Rays 11, Twins 4

Corey Dickerson hit a home run and two doubles, one of which drove in a run in a four-run sixth inning as Tampa Bay topped Minnesota.

Alex Cobb (10-9) held the Twins to one run in 5-2/3 innings, striking out seven, outdueling Twins starter Jose Berrios (12-7).

Dickerson broke out an 0-for-13 slump with a solo home run in the second inning, then helped break open a 2-1 game with an RBI double in the sixth.

Logan Morrison added a solo home run, his 36th long ball of the season.

Blue Jays 10, Red Sox 4

Toronto got home runs from Kendrys Morales, Jose Bautista and Raffy Lopez off reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Rick Porcello to beat Boston.

Justin Smoak later homered for Toronto off Matt Barnes, and J.A. Happ (7-10) gave up three runs (one earned) in 5-2/3 innings for the win.
