Hartsburg-Emden volleyball wins home opener and improves season record to 7-1 ~ Stags finished third in the Casey-Westfield

[September 06, 2017]    The Hartem Stags finally got a chance to play in front of the home crowd on Tuesday night and it was fun while it lasted. The Stags worked quickly and defeated Lewistown 25-12 and 25-17. Anna Hayes led the Stags with 15 kills. Hartem’s season record is now 7-1.

 

The Stags JV team also won Tuesday night against Lewistown, 25-14 and 25-22. Brianna Grabowski led the JV with 8 kills.

The Stags played in the Casey-Westfield Tournament on Saturday and finished third in the tournament. Anna Hayes was named to the All-Tournament Team. For the tournament Hayes had 108 kills, 6 blocks and 43 digs.

In tournament action on Saturday, the Stags defeated Fairfield 25-27, 25-10 and 15-10. They then won 25-9 and 25-19 over Casey. The Stags kept rolling, winning 25-11 and 25-19 over St. Anthony.

Later in the afternoon the Stags ran into volleyball powerhouse Edwards County and fell to them in three sets. Hartem took the first one 25-22 before falling in the final two sets by scores of 19-25 and 10-15.

Hartem closed out the day Saturday by defeating Unity 25-10 and 25-14.

The Stags earned a 4-1 record for the day at the tournament.
