New Alzheimer's Support Group begins September 19th at the Oasis Senior Center

[September 05, 2017]  An Alzheimer's Support Group will begin meeting in Lincoln at The Oasis Senior Center Tuesday, September 19 at 2 to 3 p.m.   

This gathering will provide partnership and resources for caregivers and people with Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia.  

The meeting is open both to people with a diagnosis and to those who are simply concerned about possible dementia.   The first meeting will feature a brief  presentation on the varieties of dementia experience, with question and answer time.   

The Oasis at 2810 Woodlawn Road in Lincoln will be hosting this Support Group on the third Tuesday of each month.  Co-facilitators are Julie King and Dr. Paul Boatman.

Ms King has many years of experience in the field of elder care and dementia care. 

Dr. Boatman, a retired professor of pastoral counseling, has two decades of experience as a caregiver for family members with dementia.

Participants will have opportunity to share experiences at each meeting.
