[September 11, 2017]    The Lincoln Railers hit the road Thursday night for a match with the Mattoon Green Wave and on this night only the Freshmen came away with a victory in 3 sets. The Lincoln JV fell to Mattoon in 3 sets and the Varsity did the same.

Only the Varsity scores were available with Lincoln winning the first set 25-19 and then dropping the final two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-15.

Varsity Head Coach Kyle Caldwell said of the loss to Mattoon, “We competed hard against a well-rounded team and made a few too many mistakes in the sets that we lost. It is important to recognize where we struggle during losses so that we can use that to grow. It will be a fast turn-around with 2 matches tomorrow night (Friday) and 3 on Saturday. All are at home.”

Lincoln will host 12 teams in the Hampton Inn Tournament beginning Friday night and continuing into Saturday.
