[September 11, 2017]  LINCOLN - Through collaborative research with postsecondary institutions nationwide, the ACT has established the following as college readiness benchmark scores for designated college courses.

As you can see, Lincoln Community High School students scored very well compared to the Illinois State Average.

  ENG ALG SOC
SCI
BIO
LCHS 83% 49% 61% 40%
STATE 66% 44% 48% 39%

A benchmark score is the minimum score needed on an ACT subject area test to indicate a 50% chance of obtaining a B or higher in the corresponding credit bearing college courses.

ACT Research has also shown that it is the rigor of coursework – rather than simply the number of core courses – that has the greatest impact on ACT performance and college readiness.
