The Wolverines of West Lincoln-Broadwell defeated the Stags of
Hartsburg-Emden Tuesday evening at Miller Field. 8th grader
Daulton Miller picked up the win on the hill. The tall, lanky
right-hander pitched 4 2/3 striking out 8 and walking no one.
Miller's 2-hit shutout was finished up by Trey Schilling who
fanned his only batter he faced on 4 pitches.
Offensively, 8th grader Sam Gleason went yard with a 2-run home
run in the 3rd inning. Gleason also singled off of the right
field wall. Jacob Langley tripled and scored twice. 6th grader
Trey Schilling added a 2-run double in the 2nd inning. The
Wolverines put up 3 runs in the 1st, 2 in the second, 3 in the
3rd, and 2 in the 4th.
WLB will advance to take on the Panthers of Chester East Lincoln
on Saturday, September 16 at 12:00pm at CEL. In game 1 on
Saturday, Delavan will take on IESA 1A defending champions
Normal Epiphany at 10:00am. Epiphany took down Carroll Catholic
on Tuesday evening to advance.
