Lincoln
Church of the Nazarene would like to share some good news. After
more than 90 years of ministry to the residents of the Lincoln area
and 37 years in its current west side location at 2501 Woodlawn Road
the church has announced an official change of name to “Hope Chapel
Church of the Nazarene.”
“We feel our new name more clearly communicates our reason for being
here: to show hurting and confused people in our community real hope
– hope that can change lives today and forever through the grace of
God in Jesus Christ,” noted pastor Greg Wooten.

The process began earlier this year with a unanimous
congregational vote. The district leadership then reviewed the request and
finalized their approval in July. Now that the process is complete a new sign is
scheduled to be installed at church on Monday, September 18 weather permitting.
A weekend celebration is planned for Sept. 30-Oct. 1 with a wiener roast and
sign lighting ceremony on Saturday evening and a re-dedication service on Sunday
morning with refreshments to follow. The public is welcome and encouraged to
attend.
