Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday September 15, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Home in Lincoln

Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at the church

Obituary

Donald E. Klockenga, 67, of Lincoln, passed away on September 12, 2017.

Don was born on September 11, 1950 in Lincoln, son of Wendell Charles and Hope (Sloan) Klockenga Sr. He married Janis Wieland on September 30, 1978 in Lincoln. She survives him.

Also surviving Don are his children: Kary (Tieriny) Klockenga of Lincoln, and Kristin Klockenga of St. Louis, MO, one brother, Wendell “Bud” (Bonnie) Klockenga Jr. of Dix, three grandchildren: Karina Baker, Riley Drake, and Landen Klockenga. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law: Carl Wieland.

Don was a United States Navy veteran.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Don was involved in IOOF Lincoln Lodge # 204 and the Logan County Sheriffs Auxiliary for many years. He enjoyed watching sports on tv and spending time with his family.

Services for Don will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Home in Lincoln, with John Klockenga officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday September 15, 2017 also at the church. There will be an Odd Fellows service at 7:00 p.m. following visitation. Burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Don’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Odd Fellows.
