Regional Fresh Food Council to Host Local Food Summit

[September 19, 2017]  The Regional Fresh Food Council is hosting a Local Food Summit, Wednesday September 20, 2017 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Life Together Center, 3625 N Sheridan Rd, Peoria.

The purpose of the summit is to highlight the collaborative work of the Regional Fresh Food Council which encompasses Logan, Mason, Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties. Senator David Koehler is slated to be the opening speaker, discussing the importance of collaboration within a food system.

The summit will include presentations regarding the many components of a successful and sustainable local food system as well as highlight community health needs assessment results.

The Regional Fresh Food Council is a collective effort working to make healthy food available and accessible while supporting a stronger local food economy. The ultimate goal being a thriving food system, where healthy food is safe, affordable, and available to all.
