09/18/2017 NFL Note - Denver Broncos Kerr, Zach

DE Zach Kerr did not play against the Cowboys as he continues to recover from a knee bruise suffered Aug. 26 against the Packers. With Kerr out, Kyle Peko was activated.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Denver Broncos Crick, Jared

DE Jared Crick was placed on injured reserve last Friday after undergoing disk surgery.

Crick had been sidelined since Aug. 14 because of back spasms, practicing occasionally in the weeks that followed. A potential return later this season has not been ruled out.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - * Free Agents Anderson III, Curtis

RB C.J. Anderson ranks second in the NFL with 199 rushing yards heading into Monday night's game.

He is the first Broncos running back to rush for at least 180 yards in the first two weeks of the season since Travis Henry in 2007.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Denver Broncos Siemian, Trevor

QB Trevor Siemian ranks sixth in the league going into Monday night with a 106.9 passer rating. Siemian has 450 yards on 39-of-60 passing with six touchdowns and two interceptions.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Baltimore Ravens Yanda, Marshal

RG Marshal Yanda was ruled out for the season with a fracture in his ankle, according to Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. Yanda was injured in a pileup on the first play of the second half during a 2-yard run by running back Terrance West. Yanda walked off the field, but was later diagnosed with the broken bone. Tony Bergstrom will take Yanda's spot at right guard.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Baltimore Ravens Williams, Brandon

DT Brandon Williams (foot) left the Week 2 game against Cleveland and he did not return. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Monday the injury is "long-term," but would provide no other specifics. Williams signed a five-year, $54 million deal in the offseason and is one of the Ravens' most dominant players.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Baltimore Ravens Bradley, Bam

LB Bam Bradley, an undrafted rookie, suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 2 against the Browns. Bradley was a pleasant surprise for the Ravens with his ability to make plays on special teams. He was also getting more reps at linebacker.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Washington Redskins Crowder, Jamison

WR Jamison Crowder muffed a punt in Sunday's loss to Philadelphia, but is in no danger of losing his job, according to coach Jay Gruden. Crowder fumbled two punts as a rookie, but none last season.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Washington Redskins Moses, Morgan

RT Morgan Moses (ankle sprain/shoulder sprain) played hurt for the second week in a row when he was injured during Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Moses had an ankle injury entering the game, but missed just one snap. He is listed as day-to-day.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Washington Redskins Foster, Mason

ILB Mason Foster made the game-sealing interception late in the fourth quarter on Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Rams while playing through a dislocated shoulder that trainers popped back into place.

He didn't miss a snap. He is listed as day-to-day.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Washington Redskins Norman, Josh

CB Josh Norman (AC joint sprain) missed three snaps in Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams and is listed as day-to-day entering Wednesday's practice.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Washington Redskins Smith, Preston

OLB Preston Smith already has two sacks this season after notching one Sunday in a win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Smith had just one sack in the first seven games of 2016 as he dropped from eight sacks as a rookie to 4.5.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Washington Redskins Reed, Jordan

TE Jordan Reed (chest sternum contusion) is listed as day-to-day after sustaining an injury in Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Rams.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Baltimore Ravens Watson, Benjamin

TE Benjamin Watson caught eight passes for 91 yards in a 24-10 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 2. Watson now has 442 receptions for 5,055 yards over his 13-year career. "It was great to get a win in front of the home folks," Watson said. "Any time you play in the division, they all count, they all matter. Cleveland's been playing well, especially defensively, and we're definitely satisfied to get this win."

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Baltimore Ravens West, Terrance

RB Terrance West was limited to 15 snaps in Week 2 against the Browns because of a soft-tissue injury. Head coach John Harbaugh did not rule him out for Week 3 against Jacksonville in London. West has carried the ball 27 times for 102 yards with a pair of touchdowns this season.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Baltimore Ravens Maclin, Jeremy

WR Jeremy Maclin left the Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns in the first quarter with a shoulder stinger, but was able to return. Maclin, who was acquired in June after being cut by Kansas City, caught four passes for 31 yards with a touchdown.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Baltimore Ravens Martin, Ronald

S Ronald Martin was signed to the practice squad Monday after being waived by the Colts. He has played in 11 career games with the New York Jets in 2015 and 2016. Martin, who originally signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2015, also spent time on the Jets' practice squad.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Denver Broncos Fowler, Bennie

WR Bennie Fowler will be in the league-mandated post-concussion protocol after his head hit the ground hard as he tried to make a reception in the end zone during the second quarter.

Fowler tried to walk back to the Broncos' sideline, but collided with a Broncos official while in an apparent daze from the concussion.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Denver Broncos Bolles, *Garett

LT Garett Bolles suffered a bone bruise in his leg and what was reported to be a high ankle sprain in the third quarter Sunday.

He is expected to miss multiple weeks, but that forecast is far better than what was initially feared after he left Sunday's game on a cart.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Denver Broncos Miller, Von

OLB Von Miller finished Sunday's game with two sacks after going without a sack in five consecutive games dating to last year.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Denver Broncos Booker, Devontae

RB Devontae Booker's status remains up in the air as he completes his recovery from a fractured wrist suffered in March.

Booker "has to get in football shape" before he returns, Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Chicago Bears Kwiatkoski, Nick

LB Nick Kwiatkoski (pectoral muscle) left Sunday's game. He had been playing for Jerrell Freeman, who went on injured reserve with a torn pec muscle. Head coach John Fox had no update on the severity of the injury Monday. If Kwiatkoski misses the next game or an extended time, he'll be replaced by Christian Jones. Jones has more experience than Kwiatkoski, and his height and speed probably make him better in the nickel defense. Kwiatkoski's strength was in stuffing the run.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Chicago Bears Sitton, Josh

G Josh Sitton (ribs) left Sunday's game and his status is uncertain. When Sitton left the game, the Bears lost the top blocker on their line in Sunday's game. Sitton's condition was not updated on Monday.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Atlanta Falcons Compton, Tom

G Tom Compton (hip) left Sunday's game. When he went out, the Bears were without remaining guard backups and had to turn to swing tackle Bradley Sowell to play right guard to finish the game. The Bears did not update the injury on Monday.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Chicago Bears Long, Kyle

G Kyle Long (ankle) was questionable, but did not make the trip to Tampa Bay after practicing on a limited basis throughout last week. Long is day-to-day and it's possible he could return this week against Pittsburgh. "I'm getting closer and closer," Long said at the end of last week's practices. "I wouldn't be able to tell you 100 percent, but I will say I'm a lot further along than I was."

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Chicago Bears Wheaton, Markus

WR Markus Wheaton (finger) practiced on a limited basis last week but did not dress for Sunday's loss to the Bucs due to the broken pinkie suffered in training camp. Wheaton is day-to-day and could make his Bears debut against his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wheaton is easily the fastest healthy Bears wide receiver and a deep threat is badly needed.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Chicago Bears Howard, *Jordan

RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) played the full game, but struggled to gain seven yards on nine carries. Fox said Howard's injury hasn't worsened and wasn't a key factor in the running game failing to materialize against Tampa Bay. Howard said the injury is fine and doesn't restrict his play. He injured it early against Atlanta in the opener.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Jacksonville Jaguars Smith, Telvin

LB Telvin Smith was one of the few bright spots for the Jaguars in their loss to Tennessee. Smith led the team with eight tackles and had the Jaguars' only interception. The jubilant Smith celebrated his pick by throwing the ball into the stands once he got to the Jaguars bench area.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Jacksonville Jaguars Fowler Jr., Dante

DE Dante Fowler Jr. led the Jaguars out before the start of the game by carrying and waving a Florida state flag. Moments later as a huge American flag was unfurled across the field, Fowler and nine of his teammates joined fire fighters, police officers and paramedics who were honored for their work during the storm and damage in the Jacksonville area from Hurricane Irma.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Buffalo Bills McCray, Lerentee

DE/LB Lerentee McCray suffered a knee injury in the Tennessee game and did not finish the game. His status will be updated on Wednesday's injury report.

DT Malik Jackson incurred a groin injury in the game but said afterwards that he was "all right."

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Jacksonville Jaguars Grant, Corey

RB Corey Grant had the Jaguars longest run from scrimmage in the game with a 13-yard pickup around left end. He was barely tripped up on what otherwise might have been a much longer gain.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Jacksonville Jaguars Bortles, Blake

QB Blake Bortles was the Jaguars' second-leading rusher with 29 yards on four carries, two of which were designed quarterback keepers around end after faking a handoff to a running back.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Detroit Lions Agnew, Jamal

PR Jamal Agnew, a rookie, returned a punt 88 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown. Agnew's punt return, the fifth longest in team history, broke open the game. The touchdown gave the Lions a 14-point lead.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Detroit Lions Stafford, Matthew

QB Matthew Stafford finished 15 of 21 for 122 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions Monday. Both his touchdown passes came on third-and-long plays in the first half and gave his team a 17-7 halftime lead.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New York Giants Pierre-Paul, Jason

DE Jason Pierre-Paul had a strip-sack on Matthew Stafford that gave the Giants the ball. But on the ensuing possession, the Giants gave the ball right back to the Lions on a turnover.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New York Giants Marshall, Brandon

WR Brandon Marshall had his man beat on a long pass that would have put the Giants deep into Lions territory Monday, but he dropped the ball. "That was the biggest play of the game," Marshall said of his drop. "I got an opportunity to make a big play and change the momentum, and I lost it. It was a perfect pass and I beat the guy. I knew the ball was coming but lost it in the light and then I picked it back up and I dropped it when it came down. That can't happen."

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New York Giants Manning, Eli

QB Eli Manning finished 22 of 32 for 239 yards with one touchdown and one interception Monday. He was also sacked five times.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Detroit Lions Ansah, Ezekiel

DE Ziggy Ansah had three sacks Monday. It was his top sack total since he logged 3.5 in Week 12 of the 2015 season, a 45-14 win over the Eagles. "Feels great, 'Monday Night Football,'" Ansah said. "I think it was a team win today -- defense, special teams came out to execute, and I thought it was a great win."

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - New York Giants Beckham Jr., Odell

WR Odell Beckham Jr., who was active after recovering from an ankle injury, had a quiet game Monday, finishing with four catches for 36 yards. "I felt all right," he said, declining to place a percentage on how far along he was from the high ankle sprain sustained on Aug. 21. "Still just that last little bit to gain, but it will come, you know. Another long week of rehab and all those things. Just stay positive, try to get healthy."

-----------------------------------------------

[to top of second column]

NFL Note - Detroit Lions Prater, Matt

PK Matt Prater nailed a 56-yard field goal with 45 seconds left in the half Monday, the ball hitting the cross bar and bouncing over.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Jacksonville Jaguars Grant, Corey

RB/KR Corey Grant continued to show his value as a kick returner with a 24.7-yard average on three kickoff returns.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Los Angeles Chargers Verrett, Jason

CB Jason Verrett, who is bouncing back from knee surgery, wasn't able to go on Sunday. Head coach Anthony Lynn isn't sounding overly optimistic on when Verrett, a Pro Bowler, might return. Verrett's career has been marked by stints of him being injured.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Los Angeles Chargers King, Desmond

DB Desmond King got a decent grade from head coach Antony Lynn on Sunday, although Lynn said King has to get off the blockers quicker in the running game.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Los Angeles Chargers Barksdale, Joe

RT Joe Barksdale, who briefly left the game on Sunday with a foot injury, should be good to go against the Chiefs.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Los Angeles Rams Everett, Gerald

TE Gerald Everett suffered a thigh contusion Sunday and is day to day. Before the injury, Everett hauled in a 69-yard reception from Jared Goff, the longest reception by a Rams tight end since former TE Lance Kendricks recorded an 80-yard touchdown pass vs. Tampa Bay in 2012. The play is the longest pass by the Rams since WR Brian Quick notched a 73-yard reception vs. Carolina in 2013.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Atlanta Falcons Trufant, Desmond

CB Desmond Trufant recorded his first defensive touchdown on a fumble recovery, and added his first interception of the season. Trufant's pick was the eighth of his career and it was the second touchdown he's recorded in his career. He finished the game with two total tackles.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Atlanta Falcons Ryan, Matt

QB Matt Ryan finished the game 19-of-28 for 252 yards with one touchdown and a 108.0 passer rating. Ryan extended his streak of 200-plus yards passing to 57 games and he is now up to 20 games with a passing touchdown.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Atlanta Falcons Freeman, Devonta

RB Devonta Freeman scored two rushing touchdowns on the night, which were his 24th and 25th rushing touchdowns since 2015 - first in the NFL during that time period. The Packers game was Freeman's eighth multi-touchdown game of his career, and his sixth game with two-plus rushing touchdowns.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Atlanta Falcons Jones, Julio

WR Julio Jones had five receptions for 108 yards - his 36th 100-yard game of his career, which is three off from the franchise record.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Atlanta Falcons Coleman, Tevin

RB Tevin Coleman had six carries for 42 yards and also chipped in two receptions for three yards and a receiving touchdown.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Los Angeles Rams Fox, Morgan

DE Morgan Fox registered his first career sack on Redskins QB Kirk Cousins.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Los Angeles Rams Webster, Kayvon

CB Kayvon Webster did not play Sunday after suffering a shoulder injury in the Rams' season-opening win over the Colts.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Oakland Raiders Conley, *Gareon

CB Gareon Conley debuted for the Raiders and broke up a deep pass from Jets quarterback Josh McCown intended for Jermaine Kearse, batting the ball in the air. Free safety Reggie Nelson nearly came up with the interception. "Just going out and making a play for my team, it felt real good," Conley said. "I felt like I could have picked it." Said head coach Jack Del Rio, "I thought he played well. They tried him early, defended that ball, nearly intercepted it. From the view I had, it looked like he was productive for us. He did a nice job."

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Smith, Tye

CB Tye Smith should return this week after missing Sunday's game with a broken hand.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Sims, LeShaun

CB LeShaun Sims played well in his return from a groin injury. He played mostly as the third cornerback, coming in on the outside while Adoree' Jackson or Logan Ryan moved to the nickel-back spot.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Murray, DeMarco

RB DeMarco Murray is off to a slow start, with just 69 yards in two games. He sat most of the second half of Sunday's game due to a hamstring that he strained in the game. He dealt with the injury in camp.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Davis, Corey

WR Corey Davis made only one catch and is day-to-day after straining his hamstring again. He missed all of preseason and most of camp with the injury.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Cyprien, Johnathan

S Johnathan Cyprien is already declared out this week and will miss two to three more weeks total with his injured left hamstring.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Mariota, Marcus

OLB Brian Orakpo had a sack and strip against the Jaguars, as teammate Erik Walden recovered the fumble.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tennessee Titans Henry, *Derrick

RB Derrick Henry had a career high 92 yards on 14 carries, including a 17-yard TD run.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Hoyer, Brian

QB Brian Hoyer passed for just 99 yards -- fewest among all NFL starters in the Week 2 Sunday games -- and failed to get the 49ers into the end zone for a second straight week in Sunday's loss at Seattle. It's the first time in franchise history the 49ers have not scored a touchdown in either of their first two games.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Hyde, Carlos

RB Carlos Hyde was a one-man offensive show in Sunday's loss at Seattle, rushing for 124 yards on 15 carries. He had 102 of those yards in the first half, including a career-best 61-yard dash. The 124 rushing yards were the most in the league Sunday. He was one of just three players to top 100, doing so for the fourth time in his career.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Goodwin, Marquise

WR Marquise Goodwin dropped a critical pass for the second week in a row in Sunday's loss at Seattle. With the 49ers driving late in the game, Goodwin failed to hang onto a QB Brian Hoyer pass that could have given the team a first down inside the Seattle 10. Goodwin dropped a potential touchdown on a long pass from Hoyer on the opening drive last week against Carolina.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Tomlinson, Laken

LG Laken Tomlinson made his first 49ers start in Sunday's loss at Seattle. The import from the Detroit Lions played 48 of the team's 49 offensive snaps and helped improve the interior of the San Francisco line, where the club had had problems the week before.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Beadles, Zane

LG Zane Beadles was replaced in the starting lineup Sunday by LG Laken Tomlinson. After playing every snap in the 49ers' season opener against Carolina, Beadles saw no action at Seattle.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Los Angeles Rams Murphy, Pace

T Pace Murphy was added to the 49ers' practice squad Monday. Murphy saw action in two games for the Los Angeles Rams last season after having been undrafted in 2016. He was waived by the Rams on the eve of the 2017 season.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Armstead, Arik

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Lynch, Aaron

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Reid, Eric

SS Eric Reid (strained posterior cruciate ligament in left knee) suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday's loss at Seattle. Reid was able to return for the second half, but twice more had to leave the game after aggravating the injury. An MRI taken Monday revealed the extent of the damage, which will not require surgery. However, he already has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Ward, Jimmie

FS Jimmie Ward (strained hamstring) saw his first game action of the season in Sunday's loss at Seattle. Expected to be eased back into the lineup in obvious passing situations, Ward instead played almost half the game (38 of 82 defensive snaps) because of SS Eric Reid's knee injury. Ward is expected to return to his starting position Thursday against the Los Angeles Rams.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - San Francisco 49ers Tartt, Jaquiski

S Jaquiski Tartt (sore neck) was held out of practice Monday because of soreness that resulted from Sunday's game at Seattle. He is probably questionable for Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Rams, one where he'd likely start at strong safety in place of injured SS Eric Reid.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Seattle Seahawks Rawls, Thomas

RB Thomas Rawls played 16 of 82 offensive snaps in his first game of the season after missing the opener recovering from a high-ankle sprain.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Oakland Raiders Thorpe, Neiko

CB Neiko Thorpe was injured during kickoff coverage when LB Michael Wilhoite tumbled into the side of his right ankle. He left the field of play on a cart, but the injury doesn't appear to be too significant. It's not a high-ankle sprain and head coach Pete Carroll said he hasn't been ruled out for this week's game against the Tennessee Titans. Thorpe is one of Seattle's best special teams performers.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Seattle Seahawks Wilhoite, Michael

LB Michael Wilhoite played 23 of 49 snaps on defense against the 49ers in his first game action this season after missing the Green Bay game recovering from a calf injury. Wilhoite recorded two tackles on defense and another on special teams against his former team.

-----------------------------------------------

NFL Note - Tampa Bay Buccaneers McDougald, Brad

S Bradley McDougald played six snaps for Seattle in a "big nickel" look alongside FS Earl Thomas and SS Kam Chancellor. It's the first time in head coach Pete Carroll's tenure in Seattle that they've dabbled with an extra safety on the field in nickel situations.
