[September 20, 2017]    The Lady Wolverines hosted Decatur Hope Academy and both teams were ready to give it their all as Decatur Hope was the 2016 State Runner-up in 2A and WLB is the defending 7 1-A State Champions.

The 7th Grade game was close for a bit but the Lady Wolverines pulled away in the second half as the final score ended up being 47-34.

Kloe Froebe led the Lady Wolverines with 21 points as Elly Martinez put in 9, Tori Geriets 8, Alison Turner 4, Becca Heitzig 3, and Jenna Bowman with 2.

On the defensive side of things Jenna Bowman led in steals with 7 as Froebe and Martinez both swiped 4. Size doesn't seem to be an issue with this group as Froebe was able to pull down 11 rebounds as well as Tori Geriets and Regan Goodey both grabbed 4.

The 7th Grade Lady Wolverines are now 2-0 and will start the The Back to School Tournament in Springfield on Friday night.

The 8th grade Lady Wolverines came out to a battle. At the end of the first quarter WLB managed to pull away with a 2 point lead.

At halftime the team pulled together and came out ready to play as they maintained the lead and went on to win the game by a score of 55-38.

It was a great offensive effort as Froebe led all scorers with 18 as Tori Schilling added 14 and Asia Sales put in 12.

Not only did they work hard on offensive but Schilling led in steals with 5, Froebe had 4 and Jazmyn Robbins picked up 4.

On the rebounding side of things Tori Schilling pulled down 9 big board as Asia Sales pulled down 6.

It was a great team win, as the 8th grade Lady Wolverines are now 2-0 and will also be playing in The Back to School Gym tournament this weekend starting on Friday night.
