Lincoln Woman’s Club collecting items for “Operation Santa” for our troops

[September 21, 2017]   LINCOLN - The Lincoln Woman’s Club will be participating in Operation Santa again this year, making Christmas Stockings and writing persona notes for each sock.

On Wednesday, September 27th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., if you would like to send some holiday cheer to our troops, you are invited to bring donations to the Woman’s Club Building at 230 North McLean Street in Lincoln.

Items needed:

  • Crew Socks in black or white
     

  • Breathe mints and individually wrapped hard candies
     

  • Beef Jerky sticks, the shorter variety, individually wrapped
     

  • Chewing Gum, the ‘punch-out’ foil wrapped style
     

  • Protein cereal bars

  • Packets of instant soup, hot chocolate or drink sticks
     

  • Travel size containers of toothpaste, lip balm, pocket tissues, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, foot powder, dental floss, and regular toothbrushes

  • Travel size games
     

  • Decks of cards
     

  • Small or pocket size puzzle books
     

  • For our Canine Troops – Chew toys and dog treats

Donations of money to help pay the postage for shipping these items would also be greatly appreciated. Make checks payable to Operation Santa.

The Woman’s Club greatly appreciates the support of the community in this annual event, as we work to help provide our troops with a little Christmas Cheer while they are away from home.
