free hands-on healthcare program

SPRINGFIELD
Memorial
Medical Center has launched a new program to help students and
community members learn more about healthcare careers.
The free program, Hands-On Healthcare, meets at least monthly and is
offered in partnership with Southern Illinois University School of
Medicine. The program is for high school and college students as
well as adult community members.
Registration is now open for the second session, which will be held
from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial Physician Services, 3132 Old Jacksonville
Road, Suite 140. The topic will be physical therapy.
The first session will be held later this month but has already
filled up. Each session has a limit of 40 participants. Online
registration opens 30 days prior to each session.

Other topics that will be covered in future sessions are nursing,
medical education, laboratory, perioperative services, pharmacy and medical
imaging. Sessions are scheduled through December 2018.
Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A confirmation
email will include documents that require a parent's or guardian's signature if
the participant is 18 years old or younger.
