[September 22, 2017]    Members of Lincoln High’s girls’ tennis team participated in the Titan Invitational tournament in Chatham.

Senior Grace Skelton came away winning the Consolation Bracket, having a first round loss to Quincy Notre Dame, 6-2, 6-1, and then defeating her Glenwood High opponent
6-0 , 6-3, and her Effingham opponent 6-1, 6-0.

The team of Brooke Montcalm and Madi Tanner had no wins at doubles; Julianne Funk in singles fared the same.

The doubles team of Ali Roate/Madi Koehler had one win for Lincoln, defeating their Jacksonville opponents 6-0, 6-1 in the third round.

Lincoln Coach Jan Dickerson commented that Grace Skelton truly competed well, stepping up offensively, remaining steady, and earning the wins.

At Springfield Lanphier High School, Lincoln won all 6 singles and 3 doubles matches for a 9-0 dual win, moving Lincoln to 3-6 at this point in their schedule.

Lincoln hosts East Peoria and Decatur MacArthur in the coming week, and will participate in the Apollo Conference tournament at Mt. Zion on Friday and Saturday.
