[September 27, 2017]    The Lincoln Railers Varsity Volleyball Team took Mahomet-Seymour to three close sets Tuesday night. The Railers won the first set 26-24 before falling 23-25 and 23-25 in the final two sets.

Grace Bossingham goes up for the kill versus Mahomet-Seymour Tuesday night at Roy S. Anderson Gymnasium as the Lincoln Railers Varsity Volleyball Team took Mahomet-Seymour through three close sets.

The matchup between the two teams was every bit as intense as Coach Kyle Caldwell anticipated. "It was another exciting match as I had said it would be after the first time we played them. The games were just as close with every set being decided by the required 2 points. Unfortunately we just missed a few points here or there that could have changed the outcome. We definitely should have been able to finish out set 2 after being up 18-11 but they had a kill followed by 7 errors of our own that ended with them stealing the set and eventually the match. There's definitely no shame in losing to a top D1 recruit and I was happy with the fact that we got some great block touches and digs against her. Our schedule is not going to get any easier with SHG Thursday and then a tough pool at the Riverton tournament coming up this week.”

Lincoln’s record is now 12-6 overall on the season and the Railers drop to 4-3 in the Apollo Conference.

The Railers JV team also lost to Mahomet-Seymour 19-25 and 10-25.

The Railers Freshmen team won by scores of 25-9 and 25-7.
