[April 02, 2018]    Chicago Fire forward Luis Solignac, who missed the club's 2-2 tie against the visiting Portland Timbers on Saturday, will be sidelined six to eight weeks due to a quadriceps strain.

Solignac, a 27-year-old from Argentina, started both of the Fire's first two games of the season, against Sporting Kansas City and Minnesota United. Chicago improved to 0-2-1 with the draw against Portland.

Now in his fourth MLS season, Solignac played 1 1/2 years for the Colorado Rapids before joining the Fire. Last year he produced his best season in all categories: goals (seven), assists (four), games played (33) and games started (26).

Elliot Collier, a rookie out of Loyola-Chicago, replaced Solignac on Saturday, getting his second start. Collier had two shots against the Timbers after scoring a goal the previous game at Minnesota United.

The Fire sit in last place in the 11-team Eastern Conference with one point. The only MLS club without a point this season is the defending Western Conference champion Seattle Sounders (0-3-0).
