[April 09, 2018]    The Chicago Bears re-signed defensive lineman John Jenkins to a one-year deal Saturday.

Jenkins, 28, is entering his sixth NFL season and his second with the Bears. He spent his first three-plus seasons with the New Orleans Saints, who selected him out of Georgia in the third round of the 2013 draft.

Last season, Jenkins appeared in eight games for Chicago, including one start in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He finished with eight tackles on the season while providing depth along the defensive line.

In 59 career games, Jenkins has 121 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks, six tackles for loss and two pass deflections. He has started 25 games, including 12 starts in 2015 as a member of the Saints.
