Obituary

Maxine B. Laun, 98, of Lincoln, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Hospital, Lincoln, IL.

Maxine was born on November 3, 1919 in Logan County, daughter of George W. and Marie (Seefeldt) Laun. After graduating from Hartsburg High School, she attended Business College in Peoria. She continued to live and work in Peoria, eventually retiring from Caterpillar in 1985. In 2005 she and her sister Mary purchased a duplex at Christian Village in Lincoln to make their home.

Maxine is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George “Buss” Laun; sisters, Mary Laun, Dorothy Laun, and Betty Litwiller; brother-in-law, Carol “Sonny” Litwiller; and nephew, Neil Litwiller.

She is survived by two nieces and five nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Sara Laun.

Services for Maxine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Hartsburg Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lincoln First United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
