Visitation:  Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 1 pm. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview

Service: Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 2 pm. at the funeral home

Obituary

Alice Geraldine “Deany” Doyle, 92, of Petersburg, formerly of Middletown, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Lincoln Christian Village. Deany was born on January 26, 1926, in Springfield; the daughter of the late Fred and Winifred “Nellie” (Stone) Nichols. Deany married Strawther “Banny” Sylvester Skelton Jr of Middletown; he preceded her in death. She later married William Doyle of Mason City he also preceded her in death. Deany was an avid golfer and a charter member of Shambolee Golf Course in Petersburg, she was also a Ladies Auxiliary Member of the Middletown American Legion Post 672.

Deany is survived by her daughters Sylvia “Sib” Ringland of Easton and Sharon “Sherry” Guernsey of Springfield; her grandchildren: Bill Miller of Amarillo, TX, Ed Miller of Big Spring, TX, Jay Miller of Armington, IL, Shane Guernsey of Springfield, and Camille Bradley of Riverton, as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview. A funeral service for Deany will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 2 pm. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 1 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Middletown.

Those who wish may leave memorials in Deany’s name to the Middletown American Legion Post 672 Ladies Auxiliary.
