Near head-on collision sends four to area hospitals Thursday night
Closes Illinois Rt. 121 for several hours

WHERE: Rt. 121 near 1100th Street, Logan County

WHEN: Thursday 04/12/18 at 5:17 P.M.

VEHICLES:

Unit 1: Blue 2005 Dodge Minivan
Unit 2: White 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

DRIVERS:
Unit 1: 37 YO male, Carlinville, IL.
Unit 2: 60 YO male, Morden, Manitoba, Canada

PASSENGERS:
Unit 1: Ryan L. Cornell, 19 YO male, Decatur, Ill.
Unit 2: Sharon D. Fehr, 58 YO female, Morden, Manitoba, Canada

PRELIMINARY:
Preliminary investigation indicates the blue Dodge was traveling southbound on Rt. 121 approximately ½ mile north of 1100th Street while the white Chevrolet was traveling northbound near the same location.

For unknown reasons the blue Dodge drove into the northbound lane of travel and struck the white Chevrolet nearly head on. All occupants were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
