LINCOLN

Is the proposed electric aggregation right for you?

This offering is OPTIONAL -- you do not have to accept it and you can “opt out” by simply signing and returning the “opt out request form” by NO LATER THAN APRIL 25, 2018.

Q: If I choose to stay with the “electrical aggregation”, how will I be billed?

A: It will be included on your Ameren Bill under “Electric Supply” which is typically on page 3 of 4 Pages. (The remainder of your utility bill remains under Ameren)

Q: When will you see changes?

A: 45 to 60 days after enrollment.

Q: Can I “opt out” after I have enrolled?

A: YES. You can “opt out” any time after you have enrolled in the program. This can be done by calling customer service (866) 614-6952 -- or by email on www.nordicenergy-us.com

Points to consider:

• LETTER OF EXPLANATION:
You should have already or will be receiving a letter explaining the program.

• ACCEPTING THE ELECTRIC AGGREGATION:
If you want to accept the offered program through Nordic Energy, you do not need to do anything -- you are automatically in the program.

• REJECTING ELECTRIC AGGREGATION:
If you do not want to be in the program and want to remain with Ameren for your Electric Supplier, you will need to sign the “Opt Out” letter and mail it in the envelope provided in your introduction letter or by calling customer service (866) 614-6952 or by email on “www.nordicenergy-us.com”.

• OPTING OUT NOW OR LATER: If you choose to “opt out” immediately or at any time and later decide you’d like to “opt” back in, you must wait one year from the “opt out” date.

• MOVE TO NEW ADDRESS:
If you move to a new address in Lincoln, you will need to contact Nordic and request to be added to the program if you wish to use Nordic.

• ELECTRIC AGGREGATION RATE:
The Nordic rate is 0.04825 and is guaranteed for two years, June 2018 to June 2020.

• QUALIFIERS:
Stone River has stated, based on 15,000 kWh or less annual usage and residential or small business customers can participate.

• RATE COMPARISON:
Under “Electric Supply” there are four categories on your Ameren Bill. These rates total 0.05882, which includes an adjustment of -0.00280187 for Electricity which Ameren over purchased. Ameren over purchased electricity and must credit this back to the customer until that supply is used up. Using Nordic’s (Electric Aggregation supplier) contracted offer, the rate for the four categories drops to 0.04825, a savings of 0.01057 and if the Ameren adjustment drops off the savings will increase to 0.01337.

How do you determine if electrical aggregation is a benefit for you?

Review your Ameren bill carefully, including the “Electric Usage History” on first page of your bill that displays your prior 12 month usage in kWh.

1. Optimum Savings Potential for monthly ELECTRICAL USAGE UNDER OR TO 800 kWh may be with Electric Aggregation as supplied by Nordic.

EXAMPLE-The difference between the Ameren rate and Nordic rate is 0.01057 (.05882 minus 0.04825) multiply your monthly Electric usage (the number of kWh) up to 800 to determine your savings. EX-800 X 0.01057 comes to $8.46.

2. Optimum Savings Potential for monthly ELECTRIC USAGE OVER 800 kWh per month is not that simple to determine:

If you choose Electrical Aggregation, Nordic’s savings decline to ZERO savings at an approximate usage of 2250 kWh in a given month.

If you use more than 2250 you could lose money for that month. If your electrical usage regularly goes above 2250 kWh AMEREN may be the better option.

This happens because Nordic’s rate will remain flat at 0.04825, Ameren’s rate, after 800 kWh, will reduce to 0.04240.

Bottomline, will this work for you?

The City Council has worked to put Electrical Aggregation in place, as directed by the Electrical Aggregation public referendum passed by the citizens on the March 2012 ballot. The City Council recently voted to not accept fees for providing Electric Aggregation and direct all potential savings to the Citizens of Lincoln.

Stone River Group by lowest bid was selected as the Consultant for the City for the next two years. They asked that if you have any questions regarding this program, how it works or if it will work for you, that you can call or email them at (217) 737-5811 to speak directly with Don Frontone or email  stoneriver group@AOL.COM

This is not a mandate. YOU get to decide if this will work for you.

It is the hope of your Mayor and City Council that this will offer you savings on your monthly Electricity costs. If you have any further questions, call or email your City Council.
