One of two paintings by Cheryl Spove that celebrates the poetry of Walt Whitman.

Cheryl’s second painting inspired by Walt Whitman. She is struck by Whitman’s optimism about the basic goodness of people and Democracy. Whitman served as a nurse in a hospital for wounded soldiers during the Civil War. He lived his philosophy.

“Gift of the Magi” by Sheralyn Bolton was inspired by the O’Henry story of love and sacrifice between a young couple.

“So Little Time” a pyramid of books by Pam Moriearty. Moriearty looks to rock legend Frank Zappa for inspiration who stated “So Many Books, So Little Time.” Start at the top and work your way down…

“An Angel Hugs the Devil” by Moses Pinkerton. Inspired by his deep faith and hope that such an event is possible, Moses said he was unable to find a book that inspired him for this concept, even delving into the Bible. The Bible inspires readers in all sorts of ways. While there is no referral to an angel hugging the devil, the Bible does speak of redemption, and isn’t that the great hope!
