With Lincoln leading the game 1-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning, Canton tied the game on a solo home run. Both teams were held scoreless the next three innings, sending the game into extra innings. Canton scored the winning run on an error by Lincoln in the bottom half of the eighth inning.

Sydney Sutherland went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lincoln offense. Kerstin Osborne pitched seven and two-thirds innings allowing five hits and two runs. Osborne struck out six batters and walked one.

Lincoln coach Darrin Worth was proud of his team's effort and said, "I thought Kerstin Osborne pitched her best game of the year. Our girls played good defense. The game was exciting." Worth also noted that Sydney Sutherland, who had two hits in the game, also hit the ball good on her only out.
Again Lincoln boasts one senior on the team and the rest of the lineup features sophomores and freshmen.
