Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area Celebrates 10 Years
 

[April 23, 2018]    The Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at a birthday party co-hosted by the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition and The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum. The celebration will take place from 6:30 – 9:00 PM at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, 112 North 6th Street in Springfield, IL.

The public is invited to attend this ticketed event. Tickets include:

• Admission to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum

• Abraham Lincoln Meet and Greet

• Access to all museum exhibits, including “From Illinois to the White House: Lincoln, Grant, Reagan, Obama”

• Heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar

• Birthday celebration program with special guests

• Birthday cake

“From Illinois to the White House” is the Lincoln Presidential Library’s special exhibit for the state’s bicentennial. It examines the life and legacy of the four presidents who have lived in Illinois.

The legislation creating the 42- county Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area, with Looking for Lincoln as the coordinating entity, was signed on May 8, 2008. Looking for Lincoln is a partnership of organizations and individuals dedicated to enhancing and helping to promote the communities, landscapes and people of central Illinois whose natural, cultural and historical legacies helped to shape the man who would become President Abraham Lincoln.
