[August 01, 2018]  LINCOLN - Howard E. Sheley, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

Visitation: Wednesday, August 1 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home

Graveside Service: Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart

Obituary

Howard E. Sheley, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Sheley will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible officiating. Military Rites will be provided by American Legion Post #263 of Lincoln.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Howard E. Sheley was born on October 1, 1934, in Lincoln, the son of Elmer Cleveland and Georgia Irene Sparks Sheley.
He was united in marriage to Diane Eckert on November 3, 1978. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Robin Sheley, Lance (Teresa) Sheley, Chad (Adareli Fernandez) Sheley; one sister: Jessie Rankin; four brothers: Wayne Sheley , Homer Sheley, James (Joni) Sheley, Robert Sheley; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

 

Funeral Director

He was preceded in death by one son: Nash Sheley; four sisters: Dorothy Snyder, Virginia Klockenga, Mildred Maaks, and Betty Downs; and two brothers: George Sheley and Richard Sheley.

Howard graduated from Lincoln Community High School and then served in the United States Army. He owned and operated Sheley Construction. He was a member of Lincoln American Legion Post #263.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Logan County Animal rescue 750 Prairie Street in Lincoln or St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhart.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.
