Visitation: 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Prairieland Christian Church

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at the church

Obituary

Doris R. Dancy, 89, of Lincoln, passed away August 11, 2018 at The Christian Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Prairieland Christian Church, Hartsburg. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. also at the church with Joe Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Hartsburg Union Cemetery. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care.

Doris was born February 11, 1929 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Orlo Sidney Lincoln and Bonnie Flossie (Neal). She married Byron G. Clark May 25, 1946. He preceded her in death November 27, 1961. On April 18, 1971, she married Joseph M. "Mac" Dancy.

Doris was a 1946 graduate of Missouri Valley High School in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She was a musician for most of her adult life. She taught music at Lincoln Developmental Center for seven years, played for revival meetings that she held with Lois and Paul Benjamin, accompanied many soloists and choirs, and played piano and organ for many church services. Doris was a member of Prairieland Christian Church. She was a strong Christian woman. Doris enjoyed cooking and gardening. She enjoyed family history and was fond of her Lincoln name and it's tie to American history. She was a wonderful example of faith and love to her family and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Surviving are her husband Joseph M. "Mac" Dancy, children: Byron N. Clark (Cynthia), Timothy D. Clark (Pam), Reva R. McFadden (Kevin), and Stanley J. Clark (Lisa); daughter in law Gail Clark, former son in law Kelly Kraft; step daughters Ruth A. Dancy Cord Todd and Joyce E. Dancy; 21 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; onr great-great- grandson; siblings: Opal Gee, Helen Osborne (Larry), and James Lincoln (Marilyn); sister in law Pat Lincoln, sister in law Eileen Safford, sister in law Louise Hall, former sisters in law Sylvia Ann Feldman, Nellie Clark, and Hazel Clark, former brother in law Joe Bull, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Byron G. Clark, son Norman D. Clark, daughter Rhonda J. Clark Kraft, granddaughter Betsy E. Clark, grandson Clint B. Clark, siblings: Florence Olmstead, Ruth Andrews, Lois Benjamin, and Roy Lincoln; brother in law Harold Olmstead, brother in law Don Gee, brother in law Robert Andrews, brother in law Paul Benjamin, sister in law Marian Stahl, brother in law Charles "Bill" Dancy, and brother in law LaVern Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prairieland Christian Church.
