Junior High Baseball:  WLB drops second game of the season to Illini Central

West Lincoln Broadwell dropped it's 2nd road game in 2 days, this time at the hands of Illini Central Cougars. The Wolverines scratched out 5 runs on 7 hits but gave up 13 runs on 10 hits. Just 6 of the 13 runs were earned.

Jacob Langley started on the bump for the Wolverines going 2 innings while giving up 2 runs, 0 earned, 1 hit, 1 walk, and 3 strikeouts. Relief pitcher Jackson Geriets took the loss giving up 9 runs, 4 earned in his 2 innings of work. Geriets allowed 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. Brady Miller finished up the final 2 innings of work giving up 2 runs, 2 earned, 2 hits, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts.

The Cougars scored 2 in the first inning on a 2-out, 2-run single before WLB tied things up with 2 of their own in the top of the 2nd inning. Camden Nelson and Sampson Kurka both scored in the inning. An 8-run 3rd inning for the Cougars opened up a lead the Wolverines could never recover from. WLB scored 2 in the 3rd and added 1 more in their half of the 5th inning.
