LINCOLN

Thursday evening at the Illinois State Fair held some tense moments as storms threatened the area, events were cancelled or postponed, and visitors were advised to seek shelter in designated locations. It was a confusing night for some that may have ended in a beloved pig wandering off.

Daisy Mae has long been the mascot for local barbecue vendor Nuthatch Hill. The pink pig statue stands at the corner in front of the Nuthatch food truck at every event. But sometime during the night on Thursday, Daisy Mae left her post, possibly with the help of someone.

Brad and Jennifer Luckhart, who own Nuthatch Hill, are heartbroken and hoping that somewhere someone will decide that Daisy Mae should be returned to her rightful owners.

According to the Nuthatch facebook page a reward is being offered for the safe return of Daisy Mae. While the pig was not in Logan County when she disappeared, it is hoped that everyone will be on the lookout for Daisy Mae, and if you see her, or hear anything about her, please contact the Luckharts at (217) 737-3468.
