[August 24, 2018]
A Benefit ride will be held this Saturday, August 25th starting at
noon at the "Down the Street" in Mason City. The afternoon-long
event will include stops at Pub 29 in GreenValley, Stag-R-Inn in
Emden, 217 Roadhouse in Atlanta, and end in Lincoln at the
Glasshouse.
The ride is open to motorcycles and four-wheel vehicles. Sign up is
from 11 a.m. to noon and costs are $20 per person, $15 per couple or
$30 for a carload. Kickstands and doors slam an noon sharp!
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Swinford Family, Jamie
Swinford, Kayla Washam, and their young son Oliver Trae Swinford.
Oliver was born with health issues that have kept the family busy
with multiple doctors appointments and a lot of expense. Kayla has
had to take an extended leave from her job and Jamie misses regular
days of work so he can be with Kayla and Oliver at the little guy's
many doctor appointments.
Currently, Oliver is having brain activity issues and has to
consistently monitored for oxygen levels.

Jamie's brother Dale Swinford says that the couple is working hard to keep
everything in balance, and they aren't comfortable asking for help, so he has
organized this ride and is asking the community to come out and support this
young family.
At the end of the ride on Saturday, there will be food opportunities, a 50/50
raffle and a silent auction.
If you would like to support the family but cannot attend on Saturday a monetary
account has been set up for the Swinford family at Town and Country Bank, 303
Pulaski Street, Lincoln.
Questions regarding the benefit ride can be addressed to Dale Swinford at
361-243-0957.
