The Lincoln College Women’s Golf team opened up their fall schedule with two tournaments over the weekend. On Saturday, LC finished third out of five teams at the Carl Sandburg Charger Invitational and then on Sunday again finished third out of five at the Monmouth College Invite.

The Charger Invite took place at Lake Bracken Country Club in Galesburg, Illinois. Augustana College won the invite with team score 352, while the Lady Lynx shot a total of 420 to take third. Jenah Thompson (Mason City) was the top finisher for LC. She shot a 91 which was good enough for a share of 7th place. Three other LC golfers to compete included Lincoln native Jaylee Swinford who shot a 107, Daniela Abella from Sherrard, Illinois turned in a 108, and Paige Gibson (O’Fallon) finished with a score of 114.

Gibson Woods Golf Course in Monmouth hosted the Monmouth College Invite. Augustana College took first again at this event with a team score of 326. Lincoln was able to improve their overall score by ten strokes, as compared to Saturday’s result, by shooting a total of 410. Danielle Abella finished in 12th place with a 98. Gibson knocked several strokes off her previous performance and turned in an even 100. Jenna Thompson finished with a 101 and Swinford shot a 111.

Next up for LC will be a two-day event hosted by Olivet Nazarene University September 7th & 8th.
