The WLB students came up with this mission patch for their day at the Challenger Learning Center. All schools attending the CLC create a patch for their mission.

Mission Control looks like the real thing.

This is the team that made the day at the Challenger Learning Center a stellar success. (L to R) West Lincoln mathematics teacher Val Mammen, CLC Mission Commander Jo, CLC Flight Director Joe, and WLB science teacher Barbara Bowlby. Commander Jo brings real life experience as a member of NASA to her position at CLC.

Mission complete as the students and their teachers prepare to depart for home, lots of smiles after an exciting day.

Illinois State University physics professor Jay Ansher gave a post-flight class as part of ISU’s “Physics on the Road” program.

The Challenger Learning Center on the Heartland Community College campus in Normal is one of the most innovative learning experiences for area students.
