West Lincoln-Broadwell to play Lovejoy for third at State

[February 11, 2018]  The West Lincoln-Broadwell Wolverines 8th grade boys basketball team lost to Peoria St. Mark Saturday night by a score of 39-31 at the Class 1A State Tournament at Bartonville Limestone High School.

 

WLB led the game 16-12 at the half but Peoria St. Mark put together a comeback in the second half that started with outscoring the Wolverines 13-4 in the third quarter.

Despite the threat of a comeback by the Wolverines in the final quarter, Peoria St. Mark went on to grab the 39-31 win.

Elijah Pollice led the Wolverines with 14 points.

WLB (23-2) will play Lovejoy (15-7) on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 6 p.m. in the third place game.

Peoria St. Mark (19-2) advances to play Sigel St. Michael’s (24-2) for the championship game at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
