No one was home
except the family pet when a fire broke out at a family home located
south of Lincoln near Chester-East Lincoln School at 331 Nugent
Place. Firefighters responded to the call made by a neighbor just
after 3 p.m. on Sunday. Reportedly, a neighbor saved the family pet,
which may have suffered some burns.
Multiple fire departments responded including the city of Lincoln,
Lincoln Rural and Atlanta, who remained on the scene after the
flames were subdued. The blaze was well underway when the fire
fighters arrived. The attached garage area was demolished with the
flames breaching the living room wall end of the home. Fire fighters
placed tarps over furnishings in the attached living room area to
help protect property from water and smoke damages. And the blazed
was quickly contained to just one end of the house.
