Lincoln Woman's Club announces 2018 scholarship opportunities

[February 12, 2018]  LINCOLN

The GFWC Lincoln Woman's Club has scholarship applications available in a variety of fields for students attending college or vocational school in the Fall of 2018. These scholarships are provided by the GFWC Illinois Federation of Woman's Clubs. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges from across the State of Illinois.

Scholarships include:

  • Lorado Taft Art Scholarship, $1,000

  • Arthur Grant Smith Drama Scholarship,$500

  • Hamilton Ridge Music Scholarship, $1,000

  • Illinois Cottage Park Vocational Scholarship for Girls, $1,000

  • Lincoln Lodge Vocational Scholarship for Boys, $1,000

  • Vina Miller Public Issues Scholarship $1,000 (Political Science, Fire & Police, Emergency Preparedness, Safety & Crime Prevention, Civic & Social Responsibility, Law, and other related fields of study.)

  • Cultural Exchange Scholarship, $1000 (For high school or college students who plan to study abroad)

Students applying for the listed scholarships must plan on attending a college, university or vocational school located within the state of Illinois during the Fall of 2018. Funds are mailed directly to the school/university.

The deadline for all applications is February 15, 2018. Application forms are available by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Marta McCall, 19 Westminster Dr., Lincoln, IL 62656. They are also available through the guidance departments of Hartsburg-Emden High School, Lincoln Community High School, and Mount Pulaski High School. Winners will be notified of their status by April 1, 2018.
