Mount Pulaski falls to Illini Bluffs to end the regular season

The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers lost their final regular season game Friday night at Manito versus Illini Bluffs. The Hilltoppers were defeated 73-55 by the Tigers, who claimed the Tomahawk Conference Championship with the win.

Mount Pulaski was led by Peyton Taylor with 13 points. Gezus Oliver connected for 12 points and Drew Martin tossed in 11 points.

Mount Pulaski finishes the regular season 19-7. The Hilltoppers clinched second place in the Tomahawk Conference with a 6-1 record.

Mount Pulaski will begin regionals next Tuesday night at Decatur LSA. The Hilltoppers will face Decatur Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday. If Mount Pulaski wins they will play at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.

In the JV contest Mount Pulaski came out on top 67-44. Brandon Kretzinger (13), Dustin Murphy (11) and Josh Lawson (10) all reached double figures for Mount Pulaski.
