Women's Basketball:  Lady Lynx Down Danville

[February 22, 2018]    The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team picked up a road victory over Danville Area Community College on Wednesday. The Lady Lynx (#17) cruised past the Jaguars 83-38. The win elevates the team’s record to 24-3 overall, 5-2 in Midwest Athletic Conference play and 7-2 against Region 24 opponents.

 

Freshman Allysah Boothe (Chicago) led LC in scoring with 24 points. Boothe also collected five rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Erynn Young (Indianapolis) had 18 points and nine steals. Freshman Kaleia Montiero (Rockford) had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

“We were great on the defensive end of the court,” said LC coach Matt Vavro. “We forced 38 turnovers and had 22 steals which I believe is a season high.”

Lincoln will be on the road again on Saturday to take on Lewis & Clark College. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
