Crusaders and Bruins split two

[January 05, 2018]    Mount Pulaski Junior High Boys Basketball traveled to Lincoln Thursday evening for games against the Carroll Catholic/New Holland-Middletown/Zion Lutheran Crusaders in the Carroll Catholic gymnasium.

 

The 7th graders from Pulaski defeated the Crusaders by a score of 47-28.

Leading the Crusaders in scoring was Darren Stevens with 20 points. Also scoring for CCS/NHM/ZLS were Andrew Graue and Jarrett Evers with 4 a piece.

In the 8th grade contest, the Crusaders came out victorious by a score of 52-49. The Crusaders trailed by 10 points at half time, but came back in impressive fashion to finish off the Bruins.

Leading the way for the Crusaders were Trent Koehler with 21 points, and Andrew Graue with 19. Also scoring for CCS/NHM/ZLS were Drew McCray and Everett Maaks with 5 apiece and Hayden Allen with 2.

The win improves the 8th grade record to 11-7.

Next up will be the 7th grade county tournament, held at Lincoln College, starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The 8th grade county tournament will start a week from Saturday, same time and place.
