[January 11, 2018]    The Chicago Bears hired Harry Hiestand as offensive line coach for his second stint with the team.

Hiestand coached the Bears' offensive line from 2005-09 before joining the college coaching ranks. He coached Tennessee's offensive line from 2010-11 and Notre Dame's offensive line from 2012-17.

Most recently with the Fighting Irish, Hiestand helped left tackle Mike McGlinchey and left guard Quenton Nelson develop into top-tier linemen. Both players are projected to be first-round picks in this spring's NFL Draft.

Hiestand is the first assistant to join the staff of Matt Nagy, who was named as the Bears' head coach on Monday morning. Nagy, who most recently was offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs, replaced John Fox in Chicago.

Nagy has several more vacancies to fill on his coaching staff. He reportedly is interested in Chris Tabor for special teams coordinator. Tabor has spent the past seven seasons with the Cleveland Browns and also served as a Bears assistant from 2008-10.
