The Lincoln College Men’s Basketball team resumed their season on Wednesday evening with a road game against Kirkwood Community College. Kirkwood was able to get revenge for an early season loss by defeating Lincoln 71-55. The loss was LC’s first of the season.

Lincoln (12-1) got off to a poor start shooting in the first half, only hitting on 27% of their attempts. Kirkwood on the other hand shot 42% from the field which put them up by six at the half (32-26). In the second half, Kirkwood would extend their lead to as many as 18 points and never trailed on their way to the victory.

Sophomore guard Trayvon Tyler (Rockford) led the Lynx in points scored (20) and assists (3).

Lincoln Head Coach Pat Lepper said, “We did not shoot well tonight and just didn’t play as sharp on defense as we are capable of playing. Hopefully, the experience will be the wake-up call we need as we head into Region play.”

LC will face their first Region 24 opponent of the season at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Rend Lake College in Ina.
