- Catherine S. “Kate” Burton, 89, of Lincoln
passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at her home surrounded by
her loving family.

Obituary
Catherine S. “Kate” Burton, 89, of
Lincoln passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at
her home surrounded by her loving family.
Kate was born on February 26, 1928 in Monticello,
the daughter of Harold and Opal (Wampler) Fitzwater.
She married Wendell D. Burton Sr. on September 16,
1945 in Deland. He preceded her in death on
September 11, 2010.
Kate is survived by her daughters, Tracy (Terry)
Brown and Carolyn Sue (Justin) Dammerman.
Additionally, Kate is survived by her six
grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5
great-great-grandchildren.
Kate was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband; her sons, Wendell and Steven; her brother,
Harold; and her sisters, Betty, Nellie, and Bobbeye. |
Kate was an avid reader she had an
eclectic taste from books. However, she truly
enjoyed any and every John Grisham novel.
A celebration of Kate’s life will be held on a later
date.
Memorial donations may be made in Kate’s name to The
Humane Society of Logan County.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
