[January 19, 2018]  LINCOLN - Jude Anthony Bennett, 43, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Oblong.

Visitation:  3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday January 21, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home

Obituary

Jude Anthony Bennett, 43, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Oblong.

Jude was born on September 23, 1974 in Alton, son of James Patrick and Rowena (Bruns) Bennett Sr. He married Jami Lee Hansbrough on October 11, 2003 in Lincoln. She survives him.

Also surviving Jude are his parents; his children: Cierra of Lincoln, Cody of Springfield, Cheyenne of Misawa Air Force Base, Japan, Shawn of Litchfield, Jude of Lincoln, and Faith of Lincoln, one sister, Christine (Steve) Schilling of Lincoln, two brothers: Jake (Bridgitt) Bennett and Chad Bennett both of Lincoln. He was Papaw to Sophia and Zade. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law: George and Janine Hansbrough, sister-in-law: Tamara (Shannon) Brownlow, brother-in-law: Fred (Carol) Hansbrough. He is also survived by a very large loving close-knit ring of “peeps”. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one infant sister: Jude Marie.

Jude served in The United States Army from 1992-1995, serving in Somalia where he took part in Operation Restore Hope. He was a home inspector and co-owner of Bennett Builders with his brother Jake. He loved making people laugh and spending time with family. His hobbies included: target shooting, karaoke, working out, and watching movies. His claim to fame was when he created and starred in Haunted Renovations on HGTV.

A Memorial service for Jude will be 5:00 p.m. Sunday January 21, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Rev. Jeffrey Laible officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. (two hours prior to service) also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Jude’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project.
