[January 19, 2018]  LINCOLN -  Nancy Louise Rickord, 78, of Lincoln, passed away January 17, 2018, at The Christian Village.

Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Obituary

Nancy Louise Rickord, 78, of Lincoln, passed away January 17, 2018, at The Christian Village.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Cremation rites will then be accorded. There will be no burial at this time.

Nancy was born July 26, 1939, in Chicago, the daughter of Herbert and Gertrude (Weston) Brown. She married Charles Robert Rickord on November 17, 1967. He survives.

Nancy was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church. She read her Bible every day. She enjoyed Bible study and was a former driver for King's Club. Nancy was musical, she played the trumpet and sang in the church choir. She was fortunate to be able to have traveled to the Holy Land with her church group. She loved to shop, especially thrift shop. She was a mother to many.

Nancy graduated from U-High and Lincoln Christian College, where she was a member of the Alumni Association.
 

She was formerly employed with the United States Postal Service and later retired as a Registered Nurse.

Surviving are her husband Charles R. Rickord of Lincoln; daughter April Rickord (Dwayne Ellison) of Lincoln; son Shawn Rickord (Jessica Walters) of Beason; son Robert Allen Rickord ( David Perkinson) of Champaign; grandchildren: Kailey Rickord, Carson Rickord, Peyton Rickord, Dulcie Rickord, Perry Weston Pearson, Khloe Ellison; siblings: Jackie Overman of Norfolk, VA.; Phyllis Bussmann (Gary) of Bloomington; and Virginia Alcorn of Bourbonnais, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert E Brown, sister Catherine Boyer, and brother Phillip Brown.

Memorial donations may be made to Jefferson Street Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
