[January 24, 2018]  Brad Marchand's go-ahead goal in the last minute of the second period helped the surging Bruins claim their fourth consecutive victory as Boston edged the visiting New Jersey Devils 3-2 on Tuesday.

The win pushed Boston's points streak to 17 games (13-0-4), the Bruins' longest such streak since a 15-0-2 stretch during the 1982-83 season. The franchise-record streak of 23 games took place in 1940-41.

Marchand's tally was his team-leading 21st, while Riley Nash (seventh of the season) and Patrice Bergeron (20th) also scored for the Bruins. Tuukka Rask tied a season-high 37 saves to improve to 15-0-2 in his past 17 starts.

Miles Wood scored his 13th goal of the season and Damon Severson added his seventh for New Jersey, which dropped its third straight and lost for the ninth time in 11 games (2-6-3).

Canadiens 4, Avalanche 2

A goal and two assists from Jonathan Drouin helped Montreal snap Colorado's winning streak at 10 games.

It was the first loss since Dec. 27 for Colorado, which was one of the NHL's worst teams last season but had emerged as one of the hottest in 2018. The Canadiens got 20 saves from Carey Price in the win, while Nicolas Deslauriers, Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher collected goals.

Jonathan Bernier turned in a 36-save performance for the Avalanche, who received third period goals from Nathan MacKinnon and J.T. Compher.

Blues 3, Senators 0

Brayden Schenn netted his 20th goal of the season in a two-point outing and Carter Hutton stopped 25 shots for his second shutout of the campaign as St. Louis beat visiting Ottawa.

Vladimir Sobotka and Vladimir Tarasenko also scored for the Blues, who have won three of their last four games.

Craig Anderson made 38 saves for the Senators, who are now on a four-game losing skid.

Flyers 3, Red Wings 2 (OT)

Travis Konecny scored his second consecutive game-winning overtime goal to lift streaking Philadelphia to a victory over Detroit.

Konecny also scored in overtime against Washington on Sunday. This time, he did it 27 seconds into the extra session.

The Wings' Dylan Larkin lost the puck to Sean Couturier near his own blue line. Konecny then took control of it, skated in and beat Detroit goaltender Petr Mrazek for Philadelphia's fourth straight win and eighth in the last nine games.

Penguins 3, Hurricanes 1

The Pittsburgh Penguins scored a pair of goals in a short span in the second period, including the first career goal for Jean-Sebastien Dea, in a victory against visiting Carolina.

Dominik Simon and Dea scored 76 seconds apart to take the Penguins from a deficit into the lead. Jake Guentzel added a third-period goal for Pittsburgh, which boosted its home-ice winning streak to four games.

Sidney Crosby's assist on Simon's goal gave him 1,079 career points, tying him with Jaromir Jagr for second on the Penguins' all-time list.

Lightning 4, Predators 3 (OT)

Yanni Gourde's wrist shot at 1:45 of overtime led Tampa Bay past host Nashville.

Gourde's 16th goal gave Tampa Bay its 33rd win and an NHL-high 69 points while spoiling the Predators' hopes of sweeping a five-game homestand.

Steven Stamkos forced overtime by scoring his 18th goal at 17:49 of the third period, taking a pass from Slater Koekkoek and beating Nashville goalie Juuse Saros on a slap shot.

Stars 6, Panthers 1

Alex Radulov scored two goals and added an assist to lead host Dallas to a win over Florida.

Devin Shore, Jamie Benn, Mattias Janmark and Tyler Pitlick also scored for the Stars, who are 10-3-1 in their past 14 games. John Klingberg, who leads all NHL defensemen with 48 points, added two assists.

Florida got a goal from Aaron Ekblad, his ninth of the season, but lost goalie James Reimer to an apparent right-leg injury. Panthers first-string goalie Roberto Luongo is already out with a similar injury and is scheduled to return early next month.

Sabres 5, Oilers 0

Jack Eichel had a goal and three assists, and Ryan O'Reilly scored twice to lead Buffalo to a 5-0 road win over Edmonton. The Sabres have won consecutive games for the first time since late October.

Sam Reinhart collected a goal and two assists for Buffalo, which also got a goal from Zemgus Girgensons. Robin Lehner made 33 saves in the shutout victory.

Edmonton failed in its attempt to win four games in a row for the second time this season.

Canucks 6, Kings 2

Loui Eriksson had two goals and an assist, and Brock Boeser also tallied twice as host Vancouver thumped struggling Los Angeles.

Thomas Vanek added a goal and two assists, and Sven Baertschi also scored for the Canucks, who dominated at home for a rare time this season. Bo Horvat and Alexander Edler each supplied two assists for the victors.

Anze Kopitar furnished a goal and an assist for the Kings, who took their seventh loss in eight games. Alex Iafallo scored the other Los Angeles goal.

Ducks 6, Rangers 3

Andrew Cogliano scored the tiebreaking goal as Anaheim scored four times in the first period en route to a victory over visiting New York.

Cogliano was among six different scorers for Anaheim, which chased Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist after only taking seven shots on him. Lundqvist yielded four goals in the game's first 16:21.

Rick Nash scored twice for the Rangers, who lost for the sixth time in eight games.

Golden Knights 6, Blue Jackets 3

William Karlsson scored two goals and Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves to lead host Vegas to a victory over Columbus.

James Neal, Colin Miller, Brad Hunt and Erik Haula also collected goals for Vegas, which improved to an NHL best 19-2-2 at home. The Golden Knights earned their 32nd victory, just one off the NHL record for wins in an inaugural season.

Markus Nutivaara, Josh Anderson and Matt Calvert scored goals and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 32 shots for Columbus, which lost for the third time in four games.

Jets 5, Sharks 4 (OT)

Bryan Little netted his second goal of the night in overtime to give Winnipeg a victory at San Jose.

Little scored 18 seconds into the extra period for his team's first overtime win of the season, which came on a night when the Jets blew leads of 3-0 and 4-3. The Jets lost their first six games decided in OT.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 29 shots for the Jets, who are on a three-game winning streak and a 9-2-1 run since the Christmas break that has taken them to top spot in the Central Division. The Sharks fell to 5-1-1 record in their past seven games.
