[January 24, 2018]  LINCOLN -  Charles L. Lercher, 77, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday January 25, 2018, at the Jefferson Street Christian Church

Service: Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the church

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln     

Obituary

Charles L. Lercher, 77, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Services for Mr. Lercher will be on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Street Christian Church with Mr. Michael Mallick officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery at a later date.

Charles L. Lercher was born May 30, 1940, in Sherman, the son of Henry and Velda Reisch Lercher. He was united in marriage with Kathy Bitner on September 8, 1988. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Charles A. Lercher, Randall Lercher, Kimberly (Chip) McDaniel, Mark (Tammy) Lercher, and Michael Bitner; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Director

He was preceded in death by one brother: Harold Lercher, three Sisters: Virginia Johnston, Pat Brooks, Mary Taylor; and one great-granddaughter: Hope Lercher.

He was employed at PPG for 23 years and later at Memorial Physician Services.

Charles was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church and was an avid Cardinals fan.

Memorials may be made to Jefferson Street Christian Church, American Cancer Society, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
