Hartsburg-Emden Stags Volleyball Team wins the 2018 Mount Pulaski Honeybear 8th Grade Tournament

The Hartem Stags swept the competition Saturday and won the 2018 Mount Pulaski Honeybear 8th Grade Tournament, which was played at Mount Pulaski High School. The Stags compiled a 4-0 record in the tournament that featured 12 teams from across central Illinois.

The tournament kicked off at 9 a.m. on Saturday with Hartem avenging an earlier season loss to Illini Central. The Stags defeated the Cougars 25-21 and 28-26.

In the second match of the day the Stags defeated Pleasant Plains in two sets, 25-19 and 25-16.

Match three for Hartem featured a battle with the Lady Wolverines of West Lincoln Broadwell. Hartem came out on top in three sets with the scores 24-26, 25-10 and 15-12.

In the final and championship match of the afternoon Hartem took out the host team, the Mount Pulaski Honeybears. The Stags won 25-16 and 25-21 over the Honeybears.

Earning the first six places in the tournament were:
