Illini Central Lady Cougars earn a fifth place finish in the 2018 Mount Pulaski Honeybear 8th Grade Tournament

[January 28, 2018]    The Illini Central Lady Cougars finished the 2018 Mount Pulaski Honeybear 8th Grade Tournament in fifth place despite a 3-1 record on Saturday. A second-round loss to Hartem put the Lady Cougars in the Silver Bracket.

Illini Central started the morning off on Saturday by defeating Pleasant Plains in three sets, 28-26, 24-26 and 15-11 the scores.

The Lady Cougars then fell to Hartem 21-25 and 26-28. Illini Central had given the Stags their only loss on the season earlier in the week in a regular season match. Now the Stags have given the Lady Cougars their only loss on the season.

Illini Central then beat Normal Chiddix 25-12 and 25-18 in their third match of the day.

In the final match Saturday for the Lady Cougars, it was the black and gold defeating Normal Parkside 25-13 and 25-17.

Illini Central has an 11-1 record on the season.
