LINCOLN
The Lincoln College annual Golf Outing for Scholarship will be on
Friday, July 27 at the Lincoln Elks Country Club in Lincoln,
Illinois.
The Golf Outing for Scholarship was created by former Athletic
Director, Men’s Basketball Coach, and Dean of Students Allen
Pickering in 2001. Since then, generous support from players and
sponsors has grown the Allen Pickering Athletic Endowed Scholarship
Fund to over $250,000.
The golf outing and awards presentation and dinner is the major
athletic fundraising event for Lincoln College. This year, it is
especially significant because Lincoln College will begin
participating in the National Association of Intercollegiate
Athletics (NAIA) as a full four-year school, as part of the
College’s return to its roots as a bachelor’s degree-granting
institution.
Typically, the outing at the Elks Country Club and the awards
presentation and dinner at Lincoln Center at Lincoln College on
Friday evening sell out well in advance of the events and this year
is no exception.
